1. Colombo as an Educational Center:
Colombo is recognized as the center of education in the nation.It houses a popular school system known for children achieving outstanding results through free education. The city is also a hub for higher education, with six public universities offering free education to youth awarded university degrees. In addition, it hosts several world-renowned private universities.
2. Minister Gamini Loku’s Contributions in Kasbewa Constituency:
Minister Gamini Loku made significant contributions to education in the Kasbewa Constituency.Under his leadership, educational development projects were launched during the current government.
3. Piliyandala Madhya Maha Viduhala – A Development Example:
Piliyandala Madhya Maha Viduhala received notable upgrades, including: A 400-meter running track. Swimming pools and sports halls. Various physical and educational resources. These improvements were made possible through support from Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa.
4. Education Development Across Colombo District:
Similar advancements in education have been implemented across all constituencies within the Colombo district. The goal is to elevate the Colombo education center by integrating quality, modern, and advanced educational practices.
5. Objective for Colombo’s Educational Future:
The aim is to further develop Colombo’s education system, enhancing both physical infrastructure and quality standards with a modern approach to education.
A Strong Economy That Works for Every Citizen. Ajith Naragala aims to drive economic reforms that will boost local businesses, attract international investment, and create jobs for Colombo’s people, ensuring economic growth benefits all, not just the elite. Create business incentives to attract foreign and local investments. Promote entrepreneurship and provide financial support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This includes modernizing infrastructure, expanding green spaces, and ensuring sustainable, eco-friendly growth. Revitalize neglected areas of the city and ensure better housing and sanitation. Develop green infrastructure projects to combat pollution and improve air quality. Invest in modern public transportation to reduce traffic congestion and promote mobility.
Empower Youth Leadership and Participation A parliamentarian should focus on youth empowerment, creating platforms for young people to engage in decision-making processes and providing opportunities for leadership development. Colombo is a human exchange center of art and literature. The majority of creations in any art medium, such as cinema, stage, song, painting, etc., are socialized in Colombo. My aim is to bring all these art forms together with tourism and bring it to the international level.
Colombo is not complete just because it is a city. It should be a region inhabited by advanced people. Law-abiding citizens should be created for that. Building a law-abiding society is my prime responsibility.
The only solution to the ever increasing traffic congestion is to build an advanced public transport system. For that, all plans were made to implement the Colombo Municipal Plan, but all of them stopped in the middle after 2015. Especially the METRO train service running from Colombo to Malambe, Kelani Weli. My sole aim is to re-implement the Divitva Railways plan and start quality and advanced public bus services.
